Canada Projects 7,000 Job Openings for Flight Attendants Until 2028

In July 2022, Emirates held a cabin crew open day in Toronto, Canada in hopes of attracting new employees.

“Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, is looking for candidates to join its multinational cabin crew team,” stated the company in its news release.

The airline serves 85 countries and has held open days daily in key locations for the better part of this year.

Wesley Lesosky, president of the component of CUPE (Canadian Union of Public Employees) that represents Air Canada and Air Canada Rouge flight attendants, said that Air Canada has seen “incredible growth” in hiring in spite of the pandemic.

Regardless of travel issues, Lesosky shared that being a flight attendant is still seen as an alluring career: “It comes with a lot more challenges” but “there’s still the travel perks. There’s still great benefits.”

For those based in Canada, the data, according to the government’s Job Bank, reveals a bullish outlook for those looking to become flight attendants in the near future. Until 2028, new job openings are expected to total 7,000.

In the province of British Columbia (B.C), the outcome for landing job prospects in the next three years is fair.
