Canada: Steady Demand over Next 3 Years for Hospitality Management Professionals

July 29, 2022

Key Takeaways:

  • The hospitality industry will fully bounce back in 3 years time
  • The demand for hospitality industry workers is on the rise
  • Domestic and international traveler numbers are climbing

The government of Canada—through its online Job Bank—projects that job opportunities for hotel and hospitality management professionals will rise steadily over the next three years (2022-2025).

Among Canada’s 10 provinces and three territories, six have remained bullish on job prospects registering “good.” These are British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Quebec, and Yukon Territory.

Alberta, Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island and Saskatchewan registered “fair.” Only Nunavut logged an “undetermined” score.

While countries are recovering from the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Canada joins them in slowly opening its economy to the rest of the world. There are more tourist arrivals expected who are looking forward to the country’s diverse and inclusive culture, fine and delicious food, and the grand sights and sounds the country’s urban and rural communities have to offer.

Data by Statistics Canada reveals that the number of international arrivals to Canada rose sharply in June as compared to exactly a year prior. In fact, the numbers are near the levels of June 2019, which was nine months before the pandemic was declared official by the World Health Organisation.

“The 846,700 non-resident visitors arriving from abroad at Canadian airports equipped with electronic kiosks in June 2022 is over 820,000 more than in June 2021,” the report stated.

The United States is also a major contributor to Canadian tourism numbers.

“Likewise, U.S. residents took 904,700 trips to Canada through land ports with electronic sensors in June 2022, over 800,000 more than in June 2021.”

Study Hospitality Management in Canada

There are numerous international students in Canada as the country has quickly become one of the most preferred study destinations by learners from all over the world. This is simply because of its welcoming environment, high quality of education, and career-friendly programs.

Canada is joined by the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and France. In the case of Australia, it is considerably more strict when it comes to its borders and letting in international travelers. This impacts the decisions of potential international students to study in the country.

“Our educators are highly trained and bring diverse perspectives to the classroom,” stated the government through its official website for international students

“At the university level, 2 out of every 5 academics hold at least 1 international degree. And we have 11 of the top 250 universities worldwide,” it added.

Study at Eton College Canada

Eton College is located in the heart of Vancouver, British Columbia. Aside from its spectacular location that international students would enjoy, this institution is approved by the Private Training Institutions Branch and has also received the province’s Education Quality Assurance and is a Designated Learning Institute by the government of Canada.

International students can expect nothing less than a quality education at Eton, as it offers excellent career-oriented programs in tourism and hospitality. International students undergo lessons and training that would help them succeed in high-demand industries.

Its Hospitality Management Diploma program runs for 10 months only, and prepares

international students to enter into a wide range of employment opportunities within the thriving hospitality industry.

Students can expect to learn more about front office and housekeeping operations, managing food and beverage, service leadership, convention management, guest services, and customer relations.

Its Hospitality and Tourism Management Diploma program is even more expansive. Within the duration of 17.5 months, international students can learn how to support the global hospitality and tourism economy.

The career options for both programs are plenty, and the demand for more hospitality management professionals in Canada is steady. Contact us today for more information about our Hospitality Management programs.
