Wood Buffalo National Park in Alberta and the Northwest Territories is the largest dark sky preserve in the world, and it celebrates with a Dark Sky Festival every August.
Not to be outdone, the more accessible Jasper National Park in the beautiful Rocky Mountains of Alberta happens to be the second largest dark sky preserve in the world, and also has its own Dark Sky Festival in October. The visitor centre even has telescopes on offer, and staff members are happy to suggest the best stargazing spots in the park!

The Kennedy Space Center is a must-see for anyone interested in space exploration, not least because it is where the first manned mission to the moon was launched. A museum and guided tour are great for understanding the amazing history of this place. Visitors can also explore the Rocket Garden where they can see the immense rockets from the legendary Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo space programs.
Perhaps most exciting of all, from observation areas visitors can watch actual rocket launches.
