Hospitality (AHLA) Continuing Ed

This program does not require approval by Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) of the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Training. As such, PTIB did not review this program

Serving the hospitality industry for nearly a century, the Hospitality (AHLA) Continuing Ed is a national association that represents all sectors and stakeholders in the lodging industry, including individual hotel property members, hotel companies, student and faculty members, and industry suppliers.

As one of its educational partners, Eton College offers the AHLA Hospitality Continuing Education Certificate Program that is currently recognized in 114 countries, and has over 11,000 property members worldwide.

The AHLA courses are also offered as individual certificates. These 10 courses are taught in modules and do not require any prerequisites. Simply pick which course interests you. Take as many courses as you wish, whenever your schedule permits.

Admission Requirements:

  • Applicants must provide a valid photo ID or birth certificate
  • Applicants must hold a high school diploma or be at least 19 years of age
  • Students under the age of 19 require their parent or guardian’s signature
  • Student must complete an intake with Admissions team member
  • Mandatory criteria for all applicants (except Dual Credit):
    • meet one of the English Proficiency requirements and
    • medical insurance coverage and
    • flight attendant preparation entrance agreement, when applicable, and
    • received approval from the Registrar
  • Mandatory criteria for Dual Credit Applicants:
    • meets grade 10 literacy and numeracy requirements of the BC secondary school system or
    • completed grade 10 with a recommendation letter from the high school principal or school district
  • English proficiency requirements (except for co-op and BEC programs)
  • Applicants must provide evidence of one of the following:
    • BC high school English 12 – minimum C (60-66%) (or equivalent in another school system) or;
    • BC high school communications 12 – minimum C+ (67-72%) (or equivalent in another school system) or;
    • TOEFL PBT score 500, or CBT 173, or iBT 61 or;
    • IELTS – minimum overall band test score 6 or;
    • CLB (Canadian Language Benchmark) 7 or;
    • successfully complete the Eton College Placement Assessment or
    • successfully complete the Eton College Business Environment Communications program
