The program emphasizes communication skills, with a strong focus on developing the business and academic vocabulary required for success in other Eton College programs. Students will have the opportunity to take two University of Cambridge ESOL practice exams—one to evaluate their competency at the beginning of the program and another to assess their proficiency in all four English language skills (Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking) before advancing to career or academic programs.

- Listen constructively in general business and tourism industry contexts and understand a variety of English accents.
- Feel confident in reading and writing business messages and documents as well as academic essays.
- Effectively read and summarize articles on general interest and industry-related subjects.
- Discuss and analyze business issues topical within a variety of industries with confidence.
- Apply the language and pronunciation at sound, word, and prosodic levels required for interactions with clients and colleagues.
